Mom's in Idaho.

I miss My Mommy!

Colorado

A dear old friend has died, so we have decided to take a road trip to Colorado.
Some of you may have heard me talk of Dave Anderson (and Robin). He was our first friend in Colorado. He sold us our first, second, third etc. houses in Colorado. He was our realtor. He was also our Bishop,-twice I think if you count the ward split. His daughter, Dana, was our main baby sitter. We had thanksgiving Dinner at their house. Rachel's first kiss was with their son. (uhmm Hi ,Rae). The list keeps going. We love him alot. I am crying now. I have no details on how he died.
There will also be a full military honors service at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
As of two hours ago the plan is that we will leave right after work tonight, and come back for Monday.
It is a looong way, too expensive to fly and with gas prices it would be too much too, except we have a company car that has free gasolina! 16 hours of drive time I think.

School's Out for the summer! Shoot it!

It's the last Dayof School! of Jr. High School even and, in honor of the day, David has decided to take his Pride Planner out into the backyard and shoot it.

New Air Soft Gun. (I Know-He purchased it with his own money)

Last Day of School!
Last Day of Jr. High School!
(I hope this doesn't foreshadow anything.)
p.s. David says this is not with a full fps so this has less damage than it could have done. Click to enlarge ande see the imbeded pellets and damage.
Look out Highland High.

Via Las Vegas

My Mom was ready to go at a quarter to 6 this am. I put her on a flight to Boise via Las Vegas.

I ended up getting a wheel chair for her. She just is not stable enough.
She staggers and tips alot. She did take my cane with her. She is afraid to fall at Brents while alone. She fell again last week in the bathroom. No injuries.
Brent called after he picked her up and said she is a little wobbly but fine. Mom said that Wheelchair stuff worked "slick". ( I could hear her in the background).

Sewing, Walking

Sewing, walking, sewing , walking, that is what I have been doing this past week. Sewing Pioneer clothes for three. David is impressed that I can sew. He somehow has missed the fact that I have sewn before. I guess I always did it at night or in Nada's basement or both. This picture is of one of the prom dresses sewn before ,with help. We call it the Flamenco dress(it's exactly what she wanted- I think).

It was 110 degrees today.

The Pioneer Handcart Trek is in a week. I can make 4 miles an hour.
If I tape my feet.
Did I mention chopping the head off that live chicken a while back? Well I did- with an hatchet, then we cooked it in a dutch oven and ate it. Kind of gruesome but I had rather kill it than clean it , scald it, or pluck it. It's all a part of the Ma and Pa training Keith and I are in. Ma s and Pas are dropping out right and left. I live in the city! with city folk. Strange huh?

School's almost out...and I'm getting free furniture

Hey everybody! It's been awhile; I'll admit I've been way busy with school! I've got some pics to post, though, of some free furniture, all from off the streets of the Bronx. I'm telling you, "the secret" really works, you know, where you think positive thoughts that something will happen and it happens! Yep, we got an armoire (we have no closet in our bedroom, notice the hanging clothes rack in the picture. oh yeah and I know it's missing a panel but hey you saw the price!) an armchair (which I recovered all by myself, reupholstery 101!), and most recently a headboard! I've been wanting a headboard for ages now. Yep. Looking all over Craigslist. Can't beat FREE.

Anyway, here they are. And maybe I'll put up a picture of my clinical group at the hospital in case anyone is at all curious (this could possibly be only Mom) (it was our last hospital day today) and a good picture of us kids from my spring break visit to Phoenix. Kinda rambly post, but I'm feeling kinda rambly I suppose! Still working up to Mom's brilliant posts which I love.

PS Mom I have poison ivy can you believe it? Just like old times...

Mothers Day

I broke down and asked for an ipod for Mothers Day, yup, another modern step for Momkind.
oh and Roses. Sometimes you have to make it happen

I insisted that Dans gift to me was being with us as a family all day today, well from after church on anyway.

Dave won ballgame tickets as a prize for making the best mother's day card.

I made crepes cause I was craving them and listened to Broadway sound tracks, I told my family it was "because I wanted too" and since it was Mothers Day they had to let me.

Why do we have to stand? My 2 cents worth.

Standing up in sacrament meeting, so the Ward can Acknowledge you, is goofy!

Then you are handed a flower or chocolate. Don't get me wrong I like the gifts I just don't like the "please stand up" part.
None of us jump right up, they usually have to announce it at least twice before we slowly stand, grasp our hands together and look down at what's happening on our bench.

This particular ward is all about chocolate . It is discussed at length and often. We got Symphony bars and fudge today. I bet it's because the plants die.

Then and now.

Cute boys going to Prom. I wonder where the cute girls are?

Cool men on the way to Prom- notice the viper belt from Quatamala-

This is Maguire Castle in Ireland, Heritage from our Great-great Grandmother Catherine Mequire. "Katie Darlin'" (I don't know that they really called her that, I can just hear it in my head in a heavy Irish brough.)
She married Alonzo Knight. They are my Great great grandparents on my Jones/Eames side.

Baby-fest

Took a roadtrip to Provo for some weddings and to move home a few of my things 'cause my old roommate was moving out of our old place. I didn't take any pictures of the blushing brides (sad) but I got a few of my friends and their babies! So that was neat. Here is Astrid of Jasmine and Arthur VanW.

Above: me and Cami
Below: me and Brad and Heidi. We had some good times when we were all living in the junky upstairs of 282 E 200 N. Close that chapter now...
Preston. Belonging to Dave and Sarah Aller. He pretty much couldn't take his eyes off of me the whole time I was at their house. I had to leave the room so he would eat and drink. This was the opposite of Astrid who managed to shatter glass with her cries when she realized I wasn't her mom holding her.

Hooray for friends and babies of friends!

Local activities

A few fun things I have done in Arizona since my trip to Bisbee. Hiked Camelback mountain with Mike whom I know through...you will never guess...Anasazi.
I was too afraid of scraping my face on the stone and maybe breaking a bone to try this view of Phoenix.
Will likes to slack-line. I think it is funny and would never actually choose it as an activity. But I am game if someone else wants to. Here we try back-yard style with bro and Lara in tow.

Can anything beat wally-ball with funny people? With beards? With acrobatics and switching sides during a set? (Jessica (mission comp), Tyler (Bisbee), Dave (blood), Will (anasazi), me, Tim (Bisbee), Lara (anasazi, Bisbee) and Sheldon (anasazi).
A rather static and dull "action" shot. But there aren't any others that aren't blurry.

Salts and sessions

Hyponatremia, I think that is the name of the condition Mom has a little of--Very low blood salts, probably from her blood pressure medicine needing to be adjusted to this desert climate. We are regulating now and she seems to be improved today. we are going to go to the Temple today if all goes well.
We have those 250 names to finish by saturday. We have a chapel session tonight. It averages out to about 4 endo sessions each holder, this week.
