Monsoon

We have actually had some Monsoon weather. I have caught glimpses of its effect in past seasons but am told not as they usually are. Had some seriously dumped rains to fill parks but not this cooling effect, so this is a good thing.

The Monsoons have been effective this past week in the fact that we have had some clouds to cool things off and the temperatures have been below 100 degrees! This comes after record breaking heat of mid nineties as the over night lows and teens in the daytime. Whew!

They have also dumped some rain on recently burned ground and caused some flooding in Flagstaff.

Another interesting thing is that the dam on the Rio Salado burst and Tempe Town lake is no more. They believe the dam failure was sun and heat related
It is now a big empty mud pit of decaying fish. Not so pretty.
They are rebuilding the dam.

Before

David's Bronco is constantly morphing into something else. Here is the new half cab with racing seats, role bar, and five point harnesses or seat belts.

After

He does all this work himself. He cut the new half cab from an old top salvaged from somewhere. He continues to astound me.

Good work Dave.

6 weeks and flying by

Here are some more pictures of our Eli. Just to keep my extended family updated. :) He's growing fast! He was just shy of 12 pounds at yesterday's appointment and getting ever more expressive.

Check out that hair!

I love this shot of us.

Oh how I love this boy!!

PS Thanks to my friend Stacey for the photos. He loved looking at the camera lens:).

Idaho for the 4th

We visited Keith's mother Evelyn in Idaho. It is much cooler there by the way.

We rented a van to hold us all, too bad Dan stayed home at the last minute. Everyone missed him.

There were great fireworks in Pocatello. (and Kanab with barbeque)

We also visited with--Jason and Starla, Greg, Cres, Lisa and Jason with Dax and Lake of course(they are so cute). and ate lots of Pumpkin Cookies! Then an overnight in Almo where we saw Brent and Tammy and Ace and Aunt Leone who is 104 years old. We stopped in SLC to see Steven and his family, they seem so happy. It was good.

We had a flat tire so we crashed in at Emig's over night for a quick "Hi" on our way home while we got it fixed. Where we saw Justin, Ashley and her kids, and KaeLynn and most of hers We weren't going to stop at all since we had so little time but circumstances dictated differently and we were glad.
I wish we could have seen everyone. We missed seeing any Natresses (they are so busy) nor Diane's bunch.

We saw "Toy Story 3" in St George. It was great! Quite touching really.

Oh and we drove by many old cars in small towns.

There you have it, the bare bones of our trip.

Rachel's Early Birthday

Pita Jungle is Rae's place of choice. We all like it quite a bit and it is true to our resolve to eat healthier too.We decided to go out to our family Birthday Dinner way before the actual date of July 4.
(Okay, so this is a late post)
Happy Birthday to you while in Alaska! (She is driving a truck to a friend with a friend Heidi B. and is gone for the whole month of July.)

what i think about sometimes

“If women were convinced that a day off or an hour of solitude was a reasonable ambition, they would find a way of attaining it. As it is, they feel so unjustified in their demand that they rarely make the attempt”. –Anne Morrow Lindbergh
