Happy b-day Dave!

We went to Joe's BBQ in Gilbert, for "free food on your Birthday", then home for cinammon rolls and presents.

11 years old

...by now we have moved to Phoenix.
..lived for a few months months in  Beaconsfield, England, then a few months with Aunt Connie and Uncle Doug in Moses Lake Washington, when he was 3 yrs old.
.
He was one cute baby! and continues to uphold that tradition.

Okay, had to throw in his baby.

Thanksgiving 2010 or Still in the Desert

Okay, so there are quite a few pictures of Eli.   I like this Grandma stuff.

Allison basically cooked the Dinnner with David as sou chef.  I pretty much put my feet up. ( i wasn't doing too well at the time.)  Might as well make the most of it huh?

Scrapping

I thought Allison and I could tackle the boxes of photos stacked in the garage before the heat damaged them. It really was a bit overwhelming.  I have way too many photos with  way more of the most recent ones in the computer somewhere.

I don't really scrapbook like most people I guess.  Nothin' fancy or expensive. I just mount pictures on a page with a little embellishment, kind of like old fashioned blogging I guess.
It was fun and will be worth it to have preserved the photos.  I am about ready to keep only 10  photographs per child though.

Becoming Oliver Wood -or- Can David Really Fly?

Dave and his friends decided (or Dave got invited) to go to the first midnight showing of...
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
All were assigned characters to portray.  (And I thought I had squeaked by costume making last minute madness at Halloween-- but oh no.)  On second thought I Had Scrambled for a couple of last minute costumes for Halloween.    Evidently Dave was worried for a minute too.
Dave went as Oliver Wood the Keeper on the Quidditch team.

Start with maroon clothes, after mucho searching of course!

Dye a robe, sew on lots gold trim, and make Hogworts crests out of felt.  (Good thing the "all things Harry Potter" expert had flown in from New York City.) Then rummage for shin guards and catcher's gear and a broom.

Now, put all that you have on the boy for the transformation!

Quidditch Anyone?

Arizona Teen

Dave in a magazine!  ( link)

Arizona Teen magazine, only too bad it is in the "naughty and nice" Issue.  Don't worry  because it is just a goofy subtitle.

He is on page 16.
Go there (16) at the bottom of the opening page, then clic full screen then zoom and drag. Ta Da!
Yea! Dave.

Happy birthday to...

Keith

Good flowers are hard to find

I don't mean corsages I mean the actual fresh flowers to make them with.  It is always a hunt and a gamble.

Mostly I do flowers to relax but I also get a little worried about whether or not the people will like'em, so it is kind of a trade off.  I don't charge for my work usually, then I can say "you get what you pay for".  It takes the pressure off somehow.

Here are my latest efforts.   I ended up liking how they turned out--mostly.  Don't look too close.

These were for David and his date to Highland's Homecoming.--just a touch of Art Deco here.

These were for a Rob Bowler who wore a plaid polyester suit and the girl styled her dress to match, so this one is a little campy, whimsical/unconventional.  I had been saving the googly eyed  bee for something and it fit right in here.

Pink and more traditional here for Pete Marple and his date. The kids seem to be liking more "substantial" boutonnieres.

I have been promised pictures of the actual kids on their date.  So since that is by far the best part---Soon I hope.

Sisters

Sister Stringham and Sister Corbett.
Keith is the Ward Mission leader and this is a picture of the Sister Missionaries he works with right now.  They are great.  It is good to be involved this way.  We have discussions almost every week  here in our living room.

Just FYI

In my effort towards greater privacy for all, I have limited my blog links here.  Although I still sometimes connect through other blogs.  I also have them listed on my private page and am navigating that way.    V
