Cactus League

Can anyone figure out what this is a photo of?

hint- it was my view during the game.

answer- Dave Watt's back

Okay, down to business. Wait, one more trick photo.
This photo?
Any guesses?
Five little dots in the distance above the giant green batters eye wall? (by the way when you are seated behind that thing, on the side, you can tell you have really bad seats).
Yup, it's a "fly by" of red Bi wing airplanes! Even at their slow speed I couldn't get a photo until they had almost disappeared. ( I have never claimed to be good at this. )

Rachel and Russ showed up too! Rachel started a water fight with me and I definitely "finished it".

But, the whole reason for this party is that our good old friends the Watts came to Cactus League spring training.
Cactus league for those of you who don't know(not Joey of course)is Major league Baseball "warm up "games. Oh I don't know- Ask Joe E. He may not know it but he is my "go to" guy" on Arizona sports.

Anyway, we went to see the COLORADO ROCKIES play the Chicago Cubs! We got some serious sun, ate dogs and cheese frys (10 points for finding them in the picture)and "drank" frozen lemonade. (I won't mention that the Rockies lost.)

Photo-from left to right-Nada,Josh,Jaxon(look closely he's only three months old, I am serving a purpose as I sit in my largeness, I am his shade maker!)Me, Ashley, Kaitlin, Rachel, Russ, then Davey, and Christine! (We have been friends since before these two were even born.)

Hooray for Colorado!

Just

A good friend has been in town for a wedding and I got to spend some time with her. Stealing her away from her family gathering.

We were told not to actually touch the statue.

All the Orange trees are in bloom and their perfume (there is no other way to describe it) fills the whole valley.

We put the top down on Rachel's little two seater Miata, and took the Apache trail to Tortilla Flat. It's a winding Stagecoach trail to a flooded washed out road and the end of the blacktop. They are known there for no telephone service of any kind and a population of 6.

The place is covered with dollar bills and the stools are saddles. The museum holds only five people at a time because it is so small. There are only four buildings.

We had flapjacks, eggs over medium, bacon, toast and jam, hash browns, buttermilk biscuits...mmmm.

We drove carefully fast above Fish Creek along the trail/road.

We went in the early morning (my version).

It is good to be just a girlfriend once in a while.

Robin in the Desert

Robin Kendall, my dear friend from Colorado, came to visit for a couple of days. (We claim sisterhood) Her family was with her too at first. She has two children on missions, Sister Jaimee Kendall, one of Allison's good friends, and Elder Devon Kendall. Two at the same time! Jared, a very tall quiet one, is at home in high school and learning to drive. Ted, her husband is good friend too, it was so good to see them! Dustin, her oldest son, served his mission here, Spanish speaking, and is a legend to this day.

We took a drive up the Apache Trail to a place called Tortilla Flat, an old stage stop where the pavement ends, with a populaton of 6. They have no phone service of any kind there. People find that totally astounding.

Old friends

We attended a surprise 50th Bithday Party for an old friend, Denise Gee. Keith was her hometeacher 28 years ago in the Byu ward we attended when we got engaged.

V, Keith, Cathy Verdoon Cambell., Denise Daniels Gee, Veronica West Darrimon.

We had exchanged a few christmas cards since then, but not much else. By chance Denise and Diana discovered the old connection. Denise's sister lives in our ward here in Gilbert, her name is Diana Hatch.

What a bunch of good people and friends.

Colorado

A dear old friend has died, so we have decided to take a road trip to Colorado.
Some of you may have heard me talk of Dave Anderson (and Robin). He was our first friend in Colorado. He sold us our first, second, third etc. houses in Colorado. He was our realtor. He was also our Bishop,-twice I think if you count the ward split. His daughter, Dana, was our main baby sitter. We had thanksgiving Dinner at their house. Rachel's first kiss was with their son. (uhmm Hi ,Rae). The list keeps going. We love him alot. I am crying now. I have no details on how he died.
There will also be a full military honors service at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
As of two hours ago the plan is that we will leave right after work tonight, and come back for Monday.
It is a looong way, too expensive to fly and with gas prices it would be too much too, except we have a company car that has free gasolina! 16 hours of drive time I think.

Baby-fest

Took a roadtrip to Provo for some weddings and to move home a few of my things 'cause my old roommate was moving out of our old place. I didn't take any pictures of the blushing brides (sad) but I got a few of my friends and their babies! So that was neat. Here is Astrid of Jasmine and Arthur VanW.

Above: me and Cami
Below: me and Brad and Heidi. We had some good times when we were all living in the junky upstairs of 282 E 200 N. Close that chapter now...
Preston. Belonging to Dave and Sarah Aller. He pretty much couldn't take his eyes off of me the whole time I was at their house. I had to leave the room so he would eat and drink. This was the opposite of Astrid who managed to shatter glass with her cries when she realized I wasn't her mom holding her.

Hooray for friends and babies of friends!

Robin where are you?

Homesick Rant.
Ted and Dustin are great, don't get me wrong, but ROBIN where are you?! I miss you and to have them here without you is just wrong somehow.
Elder Dustin Kendall was good and is legend.
I told Ted he'd get better treatment if he brings you next time, a real bedroom and Grandma Sycamore bread toast!
It is 80 degrees and blooming weather here.
This is really the best time of the year here.
The Easter Pageant at the LDS Temple grounds is happening right now too.
Okay, so next time okay.
