At Slide Rock State Park

This is in the canyon south of Flagstaff on 89 just before Sedona. It is a beautiful part of the state.
Our friends, the Handy's, have a cabin there. (Yup, it is a "Handy cabin".) We're going again for Labor day weekend.Rachel and Lara judging the jumping
from a safe spot down below. "I give it a 9.5"
Allison and Ian in mid fall, jumping from the highest spot there. The one in the leaves in the upper right hand corner of the photograph, not the spot where all the people are gatheredin the background. (I need to make sure they receive the appropriate amount of awe for the feat.)
I wore a big hole in my shorts sliding down some of the many chutes. I did have a swim suit on underneath them.
The water was cold enough to take your breathe away. A refreshing change from Phoenix that is for sure.David Cannonballing into a lesser pool at the end of one of the chutes.
Spencer jumping "the big one" (we think it is about 50 feet) one of his many plunges.

It's July, time to give up Gardening!

Every year about this time I throw down my hoe and give up. yup, I give up my lifeline, gardening!
Theoretically, gardening keeps me sane, so naturallly I am not sane while here -in the desert-where it is- shall I say it one more time?--- HOT!

Funny enough, Cilantro can't grow in this heat either, wouldn't you think that most famous of all Mexican herbs could survive in the Sonoran Desert?
Nope.

I grow Violets on my kitchen window sill so it is not so bad when there are all those dirty dishes pilled up. Here are what my window sill Violets looked like last month.
Not now of course! Not even house plants do well here!
(no picture needed/wanted )
(so much for blooming where you are planted huh Alli?) not really

Why do we have to stand? My 2 cents worth.

Standing up in sacrament meeting, so the Ward can Acknowledge you, is goofy!

Then you are handed a flower or chocolate. Don't get me wrong I like the gifts I just don't like the "please stand up" part.
None of us jump right up, they usually have to announce it at least twice before we slowly stand, grasp our hands together and look down at what's happening on our bench.

This particular ward is all about chocolate . It is discussed at length and often. We got Symphony bars and fudge today. I bet it's because the plants die.

Arizona

They say there is no weather in arizona. They are right . The weather is almost always the same. Winter is mild and is about 2 months long. It's supposed to be 72 degrees this weekend. I figure it must be spring.

Vote Vote Vote in Arizona today. ( and not for McCain either)

My Mom feels better today! Tomorrow is one week since her cataract surgery.

Dave is home sick and coughing a lot, using anti-germ stuff a lot ,and video games a lot.

"and Daddy he took my car" V about Daniel.

Cutlers in arizona
