My Cute Mom

My Mom walks our dogs, Argo and Dodger, most days.

Her outfit to stay cool is pretty cute.

She reminds me of "Maxine" that Hallmark card Cartoon character.

Family

Newlyweds Cindy and David Butler with Cindy's great Aunt Doris.

I might be a second cousin or a cousin once removed i can never remember what it is. Cindy is my cousin Linda's girl on my Dad's side.

We attended their Open House here in Gilbert. They were married in the Bountiful LDS Temple and will continue to live in Lehi, UT.

Cute couple.

Tommorrow I leave for New York City!

Go Dog Go!

Mom says it is getting too hot to walk the dogs anymore. Hot dogs?

Did anyone notice she left with a little dog and brought back a much bigger one?!

She only started walking Argo recently. Each dog gets .3 mile They behave very well for her.

Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

Glen & Doris in Almo

Here is a photo of Glen & Doris standing in their barley field in Almo. Those were the days, weren't they? I, Keith Cutler, have added this post since the blog site has been inaccessible for over a week and I wanted to update it now that it seems to be working again. I'm sure Vickie will add more updates over the weekend.

I always like to call this one" Outstanding in Their Field !" - Vickie

Miles and Cheap Stuff

This was an errands for my Mom day. This kind of day almost always includes a Doctors appointment of some kind and two or more of the following; pharmacy, bank, post office, discount store, grocery store,(blood pressure machine in side of these)and a drive thru fast food place.

Thanks To Everyone

Grandma Jones, aka my Mom, had the biggest smile ever after checking her emails! Thank you all for contacting her. It really was a big deal to her.

She turned 83 and quit using her cane!

Via Las Vegas

My Mom was ready to go at a quarter to 6 this am. I put her on a flight to Boise via Las Vegas.

I ended up getting a wheel chair for her. She just is not stable enough.
She staggers and tips alot. She did take my cane with her. She is afraid to fall at Brents while alone. She fell again last week in the bathroom. No injuries.
Brent called after he picked her up and said she is a little wobbly but fine. Mom said that Wheelchair stuff worked "slick". ( I could hear her in the background).

Salts and sessions

Hyponatremia, I think that is the name of the condition Mom has a little of--Very low blood salts, probably from her blood pressure medicine needing to be adjusted to this desert climate. We are regulating now and she seems to be improved today. we are going to go to the Temple today if all goes well.
We have those 250 names to finish by saturday. We have a chapel session tonight. It averages out to about 4 endo sessions each holder, this week.

Grilled cheese

I have had a lingering cold and I think that has zapped my desire to do anything, like post a blog entry for instance.

I am trying to strike a deal with Keith that I will drive him to the airport at 6 am if he will plan the weeks menu and go grocery shopping. His ideas include pancakes, frozen lasagna, and grilled cheese sandwiches. I think he may need to drive himself.

Mom needs to change her medication to adjust to this climate, the Dr. thinks that will help. (salt levels in her blood, from her blood pressure medicine, had dropped radically) All the tests, including the ct skan, were good, very good in fact.

Mom

My Mom has been feeling poorly. We have been getting some tests done and have and appointment with the doctor again on monday to discuss results. Mom says it is just getting old yet she really wanted to get the tests done.
We made reservatons for her to fly to Idaho for Memorial Day. She will fly home thru SLC on June 1. Keith, David, and I will be on a Pioneer Trek while she is gone.

New Glasses

I told Mom if I was going to take her picture it had to be someplace other than sitting in her chair, so here she is standing in front of the sliding glass doors in her bedroom.

She was laughing quite a bit as you can see in the photos of her with her new glasses on. She also wanted to make sure I got a side view of her sunglasses in the pictures.

Here are also a couple of shots of some of the flowers (I don't think the pics are too good either). But you get the idea.

Do My Eyes Deceive Me?

My Mother by the POOL, almost sunbathing? Whew, well at least it is not swimming. I have only seen that once- maybe twice in my whole life! that would really be a shock.

She has her eyes closed with her sunglasses in her hand. I had been skimming the pool and other odd jobs outside and had been trying to convince her to just sit out side in this nice weather we are having right now. I even put a chair right out side her bedroom door . I guess it finally worked! Cute Huh?

Danny and Grandma - Nineteen Cupcakes!

Whaaatt?

Mom can't do dishes really, it hurts her arthritic back too much.

Here are some pictures of the nineteen cupcakes we did for Danny's birthday party. He did manage to get quite a bit of frosting on his face and hands. He was inspired by Owen I think. I was just gonna hose him off but he is bigger than me. I didn't want to get wet.

We went for food at a new place Danny picked. Everyone but my Mom had done Mongolian BBQ before ----------------------What are you eating? I don't know.

We opened presents in the parking lot from the trunk of our car. I think Dan liked the bicycle pump David got for him.

left eye

Mom's left eye cataract has now been removed.
Dr Bluth commented that it was really thick.
Dr. owens said there was alot of swelling.
Mom gets really weak and confused after the buzz wears off and before the drugs are out of her system. we put several (4) different types of drops 4-5 times a day. At five minute intervals. Did I say that already.
Connie, she wears her new slippers every day. She is wearing them instead of shoes during this recovery time cause she can do them herself.

I didn't walk the full 2 something miles this a.m. blah.

Mom and the Argo dog

Argo is getting old and moves slowly, so does my Mom, so I think he relates to her or guards her? anyway he likes to lay down by her. Oh, enough-- here is a picture of them.

I did my moms hair for her for the first time. It has been too frizzy so we put it up on rollers.

She says, "Don't smile just try to look pleasant" to herself when I took these pictures.

I laugh and she says, "I am trying to be normal".

It has been a good day and a good week. Another eye surgery this coming tues.
Did I say two old dogs with new tricks?

Grandma Jones - Mom

My Mom has moved in with us! We like it. I think she is settling in here too.
She has had a perm. Not a perfect one but we will keep trying.
She likes her new doctor, Dr. Schlotterback. She is still working on his name . He suggested calling him Dr. Mark but she doesn't seem inclined to do that.
She had cataract surgery on her right eye last week and is very excited to "see" the results. Me too.
