Good flowers are hard to find
I don't mean corsages I mean the actual fresh flowers to make them with. It is always a hunt and a gamble.
Mostly I do flowers to relax but I also get a little worried about whether or not the people will like'em, so it is kind of a trade off. I don't charge for my work usually, then I can say "you get what you pay for". It takes the pressure off somehow.
Here are my latest efforts. I ended up liking how they turned out--mostly. Don't look too close.
These were for David and his date to Highland's Homecoming.--just a touch of Art Deco here.
I have been promised pictures of the actual kids on their date. So since that is by far the best part---Soon I hope.

Sisters
Sister Stringham and Sister Corbett.
Keith is the Ward Mission leader and this is a picture of the Sister Missionaries he works with right now. They are great. It is good to be involved this way. We have discussions almost every week here in our living room.

Broke
I think the heat has finally broken.
We have been able to open the windows at night and the forcast this week is 70s and 80s.
Knock on wood.

Just FYI
In my effort towards greater privacy for all, I have limited my blog links here. Although I still sometimes connect through other blogs. I also have them listed on my private page and am navigating that way. V

Growing Fast
This boy's feet seem to always be kicking.
I sent him a Tigger T-shirt from Disneyland.
"Hang on to your hats and glasses folks, this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

Roy's Surprised us Both
Keith just happend to mention we were celebrating our anniversary when he phoned in to see if we needed a reservation. When we opened our Menu this is what the first page looked like. It took us a couple of seconds for it to register that it had our names on it. They also brought us this dessert with our names written on it in chocolate, and then took our picture. This has been one of our favorite restaurants, now with even more reason! Thank you Roy's. It was great.
Keith wishes he could take the credit but neither of us arranged this or knew in advance that they did this.
Keith has always said he leads a charmed life.

Weather
The weather doesn't change much here usually, hottest in the summer, not so much in the winter.
But tuesday was an unusual day to say the least... A big Storm hit. Four tornadoes touched down near flagstaff, (15 homes unihabitable and of course there are trailerparks galore, tossed) golfball sized hail, (the cars have broken windshields and severe hail damage--Scottsdale area mostly, of course that is where all the upscale car dealerships are), gail force winds, (trees down all over causing power outages, particularly in Mesa) flooding, thunder and lightning, and rain rain rain...
Here's one quote from the news--"According to Lena Kent of Burlington Northern Santa Fe, the severe weather up north derailed a 58-car train. One of the tornadoes blew 28 cars off the tracks. A crew of two was aboard the train at the time. Neither was hurt. The train, which was stopped in Bellemont because of the tornado warning, was heading east, hauling containerized cargo from ports in Los Angeles."
It was an exciting day.
We still have some severe storm warnings around the state.

Aniversary Trip to So Cal
We visited the San Juan Capistrano Mission. No swallows. The report is they don't "return" as much anymore because of the building growth surrounding the Mission and the many people.
Keith opts for the audio tour. I like reading the signs. Typical. We are different yet work well together.
We hiked down to the tide pools. I do love the ocean. I respect it. As long as I can touch the bottom when I am in it I am happy. We visited Newport beach and the new LDS Newport Beach Temple there. It is a beauty. The chapel next door is very pretty too, and larger than most I think.
Later we went to Ramos House Restaurant where we had a fantastic upscale brunch in old town Capistrano. the place doesn't look like much from the outside but it was good food! Keith thought it might not fill him up and be too expensive but the food won him over. It was very good. I am tending toward seasonal local food and I hoped this might sway him a little and it did.
Just look at this place--(hyperlink above) it is sooo rustic looking.

Still Crazy...
...after all these years.
Thirty years we have been married!
That requires a trip to Disneyland!
And a three day park hopper pass to boot. Here we are on the Buzz Lightyear ride.Yes, Keith is skunking me in shooting accuracy, but here is my excuse, my left hand is working a joystick that caused the ship we were in to spin etc. He kept both hands on the laser gun. Okay, so he still out shot me despite my best efforts at sabotage. He is just a better shot than I am. I guess I'll have to be married to him another 30 years and practice.
